A Crisp, Frosty Morning
It’s 4th January 2019, and we start with a crisp, frosty morning. The cold soon disappears as the excitement of a wedding pushes through!
On meeting Vicky, she had already researched Pinterest to help her choose the style and colours for her winter bouquet. Wine Carnations were a definite for Vicky, complementing the colour of her bridesmaid’s dresses.
Vicky shared a favourite image with me. It had a natural style to it with pink Wax Flower, peachy Roses, and blue Berries. So along with the Carnations, this was our starting point; and this was the result.
With fluffy Carnations, delicate Wax Flower, peachy Roses, blue Thistle, blue Berries, seed pods from Populas, and scented Eucalyptus. It provides a feast of textures in a winter wedding bouquet, and was a joy to make. The bridesmaids had smaller bouquets, without the peachy Roses.
This photographs showcases how beautifully all the deep and warm tones from the wine and blue work together, creating unity. Cluster buttonholes for the groom and groomsmen were styled with blue Berries, Wax Flower and Eucalyptus.
The bridesmaid bouquets also decorated the top table. This is a popular idea as this saves on costs.
Thanks to Ben at Field Lane Photography for sharing the photographs.
What a beautiful cake!
Then there was the cake. Wow, what a beautiful cake! A popular three tired naked cake was chosen, drizzled with gold icing and dressed with flowers and macaroons.
